B&W/CLASSÉ

This was another quite impressive room which featured reference-level components from B&W and Classé. The system was built via the Classé Delta Pre preamplifier, the Classé Delta Monoblock amplifiers, the B&W 801 D4 speaker and the DB1D subwoofer, and the DR Acoustics Antigone power system.

Tracy Chapman’s “Talkin’ Bout a Revolution” played as I sat for a listen and quick evaluation. The music which came forth from the system was alive, wonderfully engaging, and musical. It presented all of the detail and more, that I had become familiar with on Tracy’s song and well as the others which followed. Systems are, generally, not supposed to sound so good in show rooms of this size, but the B&W and Classé was a true exception to the rule.

Unfortunately, time was not on my side for sitting for a good and thorough ‘show listen’ and as such I was not able to come to a good determination on the sound. But what I do recall is texture, scale, and wonderful musicality.
