PURE AUDIO PROJECT

Ze’ev was his kind and welcoming self, it’s his way. And it is always greatly appreciated. We had recently reviewed his Duet 15 open baffle speakers which worked very well in reviewer Oliver Masciarotte’s system.

The Pure Audio Project speakers on hand for the show were the Trio 15 w/Coax10 ($8,650). The other featured components were:

  • Pass Labs INT 25 Integrated ($7,250)

  • Pass Labs SP-17 Phono Preamp ($4,600)

  • DENAFRIPS Terminator Plus 12th Ed. ($7,570)

  • VPI Scout Turntable w/Shyla Cartridge ($3,300)

  • Silversmith Fidelium Internal Wiring ($1,850) and Speaker Cable ($1,195)

Yes, Chairman Mao” from Charlie Haden, John Taylor’s Nightfall album and “Simple Things” from Kandance Springs’ Indigo Album.— were utilized once again, to ascertain some level of comparison.

The system was wonderfully musical, clear, and clean and Haden’s “Chairman Mao” was crystal clear, one of the best representations at the show with oodles of detail (yes, I used ‘oodles). There was also great air on top, solid coherency, and a firm, tight foundation. This would definitely rate as a candidate for Best Sound at the show.
