YAMAHA

A special thanks to Susumu Kumazumu and Phil of YAMAHA for their time.

The YAMAHA room was represented by a minimalist system that incorporated the YAMAHA GT-5000 turntable ($7,995.95), CD-S3000 CD player ($5,999.95), C-5000 preamplifier ($9,999.95), M-5000 amplifier ($$9,999.95), and the NS-5000 speakers ($14,995.95).

Paul Desmond’s Greatest Hits (RCA Victor), an album that has been forever on my curated list of albums, was played to very good effect via the YAMAHA system, in the difficult conditions of the show room. The resulting sound was clean, smooth, with very good high-end resolution, and it was quite musical.

YAMAHA also introduced their YH-5000SE headphones ($4,999.95) and their latest headphone amplifier the YAMAHA HA L7A (TBD).
