Meze Audio announces the official launch of the 109 PRO headphone

After much anticipation, I am beyond excited to introduce you to the newest addition to the Meze Audio lineup of Romanian-made products: the 109 PRO.
Powered by a 50mm dynamic driver and built from carefully curated materials such as walnut wood, zinc and manganese steel, the 109 PRO is a demonstration of our commitment to go beyond the faithful reproduction of sound to deliver pure emotion. Rising to our highest standards of comfort, design and audio reproduction, this headphone is made to empower a deeper connection with your favorite music.
In a world of fast-paced technology, we bet on proven fundamentals. At the heart of the headphone, the newly designed 109 series Dual-Composite diaphragm allowed us to push the boundaries of speed, accuracy, and dynamic range. Here’s what makes it work:
Made of cellulose composite enforced with carbon fiber, the W-shaped dome is able to reproduce high-frequencies with incredible detail, clarity and definition.
The ultra-thin torus (22 microns) is constructed out of a Beryllium-coated semicrystalline polymer, which contributes to greater clarity and a faster transient response and helps suppress unwanted resonances.
Around the circumference of the membrane, the ring-shaped stabilizer made of copper-zinc alloy improves the absorption of vibrations to reduce distortion even further.
The diaphragm is then encased in a high-precision aluminum frame with a neodymium magnet. Manufactured using CNC machining, the frame offers superior rigidity, strength, and retains perfect surface flatness.
ACOUSTIC DESIGN
The spider-shaped structure and acoustically transparent grill inside the earcup exposes the driver from both sides, creating Meze Audio’s most open pattern to date.
The driver, placed at a precise angle and distance from the ear, achieves the ideal anatomical fit for the most natural listening experience possible.
Soft, breathable velour and memory foam earpads comfortably envelop the ears, providing the optimal seal.
The self-adjusting, spring steel headband distributes weight evenly to relieve pressure for a more comfortable experience that allows the listener to be fully present.
Starting September 15, 2022, 109 PRO is available on mezeaudio.com, mezeaudio.eu and with selected Meze Audio distributors from around the world.
